Boy, the fan is this card is NOISY!

However - AnandTech says ..."to a 0.13-micron manufacturing process it requires very little cooling. ... "

I am looking at the Zalman products - any guidance from anyone on selection .....for passive cooling of course ...

[I am not a heavy 3d gamer - nor am I likely to OC the card].

Thanks,
tk

Get the same one they use on the 9600 Pro Ultimate, if it's available retail. Maybe it's the "HP-50"?

Otherwise, sell your current card and get the Pro Ultimate. Everyone knows black Vidcards run faster anyway, right? :)

Thanks Ralf - Hmmm that looks very "cool" - how many times is that pun overused here ...

The retail option is really going to be the key. I might try emailing ATI support. Will let you know outcome.

HP 50 ??

Best,
tk

Yup - I got about 0200 hrs this morning too - thanks!
BTW did you ever see my questions to you re finding extension cabling for a larger case? Dunno if I can find it myself, to be honest - will search now.

ATI tech support by email proving to be impenetrable. I gave up and went for the Zalman 80C for max heat dissipation and future possibilities.

Thanks,
