Arctic Cooler VGA sliencer - aaaaaaaaarrrrrghhhhh!!
Got 1 of these coolers the other day and was immediately impressed until it came to fitting it. The screw holes on the heatsink don't line up with the ones on my gfx card (Powercolour ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128mb version) making fitting it impossible. So I'm stuck with a £20 cooler that is no use to me...gutted
Now that is strange!
I though that all Radeon 9800pro boards should be based on the reference model, perhaps it might differ with a card that has different cooler but the Powercolor card has a normal reference cooler.
Here's a review of a few R9800pro cards, including the Powercolor one and judging by the high res photos the holes seem to be roughly in the same place as with the reference card, strange: http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/rad ... pro-3.html
I sympthize with you though, I had similar trouble with my Thermalright SP-94 heatsink. One screw didn't want to align with the x-plate on the otherside of the motherboard. I ended up tightening it anyway and one screw is now a bit crooked, haven't installed the heatsink on top of it yet so I don't even know if it'll fit right, hope it will.

i fitted one to a powercolour radeon 9800 pro 128mb and it fitted no probs. the holes lined up ok and the heat transfers brilliantly to the heatsink with some artic silver 5.Scooby wrote:Got 1 of these coolers the other day and was immediately impressed until it came to fitting it.
