movie shuttle system with specifics

Post by krooton » Tue Aug 03, 2004 6:23 am

I'm thinking about getting a shuttle to hook up in the living room, but there are a few factors that I need to take into account.

I'd like to be able to put the following in it, as I have them lying around anyways:
Duron 1.2Ghz
60G HDD
9000 Pro 128MB w/ Zalman heatpipe

Also, I have a spare 92mm SilenX fan, are there cases that allow for 92mm exhausts/intakes?

I would also like to purchase the following for it:
wireless lan card
DVD drive

Now most of the barebone systems come with psu and mobo, so which do I choose taking in account what I need?

I only plan to use the machine for watching movies (on the HDD or over the lan) and playing music, so the duron should more than suffice.

would radeon not fit due to the zalman heatpipe?

what would be the most cost effective barebones system to get, the cheaper the better really, dont need to run apps or play games.

at the moment I am thinking:

Antec Aria Micro ATX Cube Case - 300w PSU (CA-021-AN)
Asus A7V8X-MX (Socket A) Micro ATX Motherboard (MB-033-AS)

Dunno what cpu cooler to get for the 1.2 Duron, as it needs to be as quiet as possible and fit within the aria (i believe there are clearance issues with the psu)

cheers
