Could this fit in the pundit? Its an 70mm alu fan on an alu heatsink.

Because of the limited space inside the case, not many coolers with own heatsinks will fit in the Pundit.

Does somebody have the exact specs of the cpufan an heatsink of the pundit, I couldn't find it here @ silent pc review.

If this one fits, I'm thinking of buying this cooler.

Remarks/advise please !!

As long as the cooler doesn't overhang the heatsink retention bracket it will fit
Out of curiousity why are you replacing the pundit's cooler with what looks to be an inferior cooler?

Well, the main problem i have with the pundit is the noise.
I don't want to make major modifications on the pundit, just want it to be quiet, not necessarily silent.

No I don't this cooler, inferior to the one asus ships.

I think the fan is also made out of aluminium - correct me if I'm wrong - it has better heat absorption , so in theory the smaller fan doesn't have rev as much.

Have you got Qfan enabled?

I'm not sure the fan is alu, it looks like silver plastic.

The pundit cooler is copper so it's a better cooler than this so it would be cooled better by a slower fan
The pundit speeds and slows the fan depending on the cpu temp, for the most part just using qfan my system spins the fan at 2000rpm, and so that fan would likely need to spin just as fast, perhaps faster due to the heatink being aluminium

Theres a thread here about how I made my pundit fn silent

Yes I have got Q-Fan enabled. I contacted the company who ships the coolers over, and indeed !! the fan is plastic!!

I read your post about the cutting the wires and stuff, but i have come up with a solution of my own since i''dd like to keep my pundit as standard as possible.

last couple of hours I spend tweaking the fans with Speedfan.

this is what works for me :

temp01: Desired @ 53 degrees *C (127*F)
Warning @ 70*C (158*F)
temp01 is controlled by speed 01

temp02: Desired @ 45 degrees *C (113*F)
Warning @ 50*C (122*F)
temp02 is controlled by speed 02

Speed 01: minimum 30% maximum 40%
Speed 02: minimum 28% maximum 100%

This results in:

CPU: idle @ 45 degrees *C (113*F)
full load @ 57 degrees *c (135*F)

when running @ normal load the fan does not revs up over 35% Speedfan can't get a RPM measurement, but it's real quiet, from 2 meteres I can' t hear the system.

when the CPU is heating up the fans speed up to 40% @ around 2700 RPM's wich is real acceptable, once the temp is below 50 degrees the fan goes back to 30%

hope this helps somebody!!
Could you post your temps, so I can check if my temps are ok, or a tad to high

the best way to check if your temps are too high is to run trhottle watch in windows
intel chipse protect themselfs from high temps by recuding the workload, this program monitors if this occurs in which case the cooling isn't adequate.
