I was wondering if it was possible to do a fanless Dual Opteron... going to be one hot case, tho, eh?
VoodooPC intro's Fanless Dual Opteron based on Zalman TNN500

Perhaps not as hot as you might think. The Opteron 246HE is a pretty efficienty processor. TDP is 55W. So a pair of them gets you 110W, which isn't that much hotter than a normal processor + High end GPU.
Now what puzzles me is that they claim you can upgrade to a 248HE, which AMD doesn't list.
Oh and of course for $4000+, there's a lot of other things you could have.

Strange! Zalman makes TNN 600 for dual CPU systems, but Voodoo seems to use old TNN 500 A, probably modified -- or they simply forgotten to update their case picture on the web.ky wrote:Product Page
