I was wondering if it was possible to do a fanless Dual Opteron... going to be one hot case, tho, eh?

Perhaps not as hot as you might think. The Opteron 246HE is a pretty efficienty processor. TDP is 55W. So a pair of them gets you 110W, which isn't that much hotter than a normal processor + High end GPU.

Now what puzzles me is that they claim you can upgrade to a 248HE, which AMD doesn't list.

Oh and of course for $4000+, there's a lot of other things you could have.

Strange! Zalman makes TNN 600 for dual CPU systems, but Voodoo seems to use old TNN 500 A, probably modified -- or they simply forgotten to update their case picture on the web.
Cheers,
