Via's Artigo A2000 Mini Server runs Linux

Via announced a "mini-server kit" that targets home media storage. Touted as being the same height as a CD, the Linux-compatible Artigo A2000 includes two 3.5-inch bays for hard drives, a bootable CompactFlash slot, gigabit Ethernet, three USB ports, and a wireless LAN option, says Via....
Availability
Via did not release pricing for the Artigo A2000, but said the device will be available on Dec. 15 from online retailers Bell Micro, EPRO-ITX, Fry's Electronics, and Logic Supply in the U.S., and from Mini-ITX.com, Monclick and Ibertronica in Europe. Pricing appears to run about $300. "Wider availability" will follow in January, the company says.

It has been taking way too long for products like this to come out.
And even though this product doesn't answer every question it could, it is about time via has released it

Looks interesting for a low end server. However, I think the price point ($299) is too high. You could put together a similarly configured Shuttle K45 system (with a Celeron 430 & 512M RAM) for around $150. Also, the K45 is only a little bigger dimensionally.

Pro -- Better CPU & chipset, along with lower price
Con -- Stock PSU fan loud & annoying, CPU fan loud
To make a K45 quiet, you have to spend money and time --

Also search SPCR for "Shuttle AND K45"
Small and Quiet and Cheap -- pick any two...

I would have bought this already if they could have added 2 more 3.5" SETA HDD bays.
I want a tiny 4 Disk NAS on the cheap
