Voodoo isn't known for making silent machines. And this one's unlikely exception.
EDIT: It has Asetek WC. Surely not quiet.

Well, their old Eden and Omen units were quiet, as they used the old Zalman TN silent cases.

Glad to see they trimmed the size of the Firebird a little from the former model. I've seen the Blackbird in person and it was a huge tower, and heavy.

$1800 isn't that bad considering a Mac Pro starts at $2500. I wonder what happened to Voodoo's new $7000 Omen. Maybe it's permanently on hold given the economic recession.

Hey there,

VoodooDan from HP here. The motherboard is custom in the Firebird, and it’s the only way we can deliver such a unique system. By the way, an external power supply on a desktop is has advantages. Imagine what happens if you power supply failed on a standard desktop, very difficult to replace. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me or give me a shout.
