I am looking for a media PC for the living room and I cam cross this at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product. It looks like a decent enough unit despite a 1-year warranty. Atom D525 1.8ghz, next gen ion, 2gb ram, 320gb HD, Blu-Ray combo drive, Wifi and media remote for $480 shipped. Add W7 Home Premium and that seems like a good deal for under $600.

Does anyone have any experience with or feelings about these units?

The point of going with Atom is to get a system that has at least two of these characteristics:
-fanless
-very small
-very cheap
As far as I can determine, the Asus has none of these characteristics. It seems rather expensive for what you get in fact.

Current Atom-Ion systems have a flawed architecture (forced by Intel's monopolistic practices).
