Hi,

Has anyone experience of this case?
http://www.codegenworld.com/showDetails ... search=398

It comes with a 420W ATX 12V PSU for 40€. Any idea if this PSU is silent?

I am planning to start my htpc on this ...

It would be kind of a miracle if the PSU was silent. The whole setup is just $40 bucks, you can imagine how much the PSU costs and how big a priority quiet operation probably was.

Well sometimes it is not "that" bad :D

What is the typical cost for a fanless PSU if I use ATOM platform?

On German eBay, PicoPSUs start at 50 Euro (with external power supply) plus 15 Euro shipping to Finland.

Thanks

considering the total cost I might just have to go to:
- LC Power ITX Mini-1320MI (50€ with passive PSU 75W - mini itx)

- LC-POWER LC-1300Mi (50€ with passive PSU 75W - micro atx)

Any idea if it would be enought for a combo motherboard + sempron 140?

I think that would be cutting it very close. This review has a Sempron 140 drawing a maximum 67w. With a more modern chipset like AMD's 880G, that should be a couple of watts lower, seeing as nVidia is almost infamous for their power hungry chipsets. Still, without knowing the specs of the power supply, it's very close.

Also, with such a slim enclosure, I'm not sure what selection of heatsinks you could choose from. I'd venture a guess that the boxed cooler would not fit.

This case and psu is clearly aimed at Atom or VIA EPIA boards.

You replaced the original psu or you bought the case without it?
