SPCR

I am looking to get a STB like a Boxee or Roku largely for playing dvds (as iso's shared via SMB) and Netflix streaming.

I know that this isn't quite up SPCR's alley, does anyone have any suggestions for a good forum or site to get information about these?

They have a dedicated HTPC section; not sure where you'd be most likely to find STB recommendations, but I'm sure they're there somewhere.
