SFF Barebones with server hardware?

At my office my team is developing a hardware appliance for our trainers to use for demos, the trouble at the moment is that the appliance is currently a 2U server which complicates things a bit (primarily delivery/transportation). I'm curious if there exists a SFF or small-ish computer that is easy to transport with server-class hardware. It would need to support Hyper-V as we're using that as the platform.

It would need to have wireless either built-in or as an option. Any suggestions?

Have you looked at the new SuperMicro X9SPV? http://www.supermicro.com/products/moth ... 9SPV-F.cfm

It's not gonna be cheap with an onboard embedded CPU, but you should be able to put it in an M350 or MC500 as long as you don't need any expansion.

Thanks for the link, that does look really good but I would need at least quad-core :(

I think the minimum specs would be Quad-Core, 16GB ram, and with wireless/expansion slot.

Sever-grade miniITX board: http://ark.intel.com/products/60637/Int ... rd-S1200KP.
Accept quad core CPU's(max95W), up to 16GB RAM, it has one 16xPCI-E slot. All you need is a nice miniITX case...

Here is a list of mini-ITX boards that accept 16GB of memory.

This one in particular looks good:

These boards aren't exactly "server class" but I believe they will support Hyper-V with an intel 3570K:

And they fit nicely into a small M350 Universal Mini-ITX Case – (WHD = 192mm, 62mm, 210mm) 7.55 x 2.44 x 8.27 inches:

Or how about an Antec ISK-300:

The LN4F version is available with a 3612QE: http://www.supermicro.com/products/moth ... V-LN4F.cfm

No mPCIe, but you could always use an internal USB module for wireless, something like the VIA VNT6656G6A40.

It might be a bit naughty for me to post this, but I run a company that specialises in SFF servers, we offer a bespoke service too. We did a custom job for one client who wanted a mobile virtualized deployment system to take round to clients' sites. That used a Supermicro board and Xeon processor in a chassis more familiar to LANparty gamers, we added 6 2.5" hotswap bays and an RDX drive in the 5.25" bays to give him everything he wanted in a mobile deployment/recovery system.

I won't take the mickey too much and post my website, but PM me and I'll mail you my details.

We're based in the UK. We're an MS embedded partner and Intel Gold partner.
