HUSH case top screws

Post by eugenius » Mon Jul 30, 2012 8:28 am

I just bought an older hush e6 htpc to tinker with and I realised the screws for the top cover are custom ... does anybody know how to open them, what kind of tool do you need? The screws have two small holes, I presume you need a special tool for that.

Here's a picture:

Those look like spanner screws. They are one of the common types of security screws, you should be able to get a screwdriver without too much trouble, on-line or in a hardware store (there are several sizes though, so be careful to buy the right one). Alternatively iFixit sells a huge kit of security bits for $25, but that's only useful if you encounter security screws more or less regularly.

edit: They are apparently also known as snake eyes screws, or even as pig nose screws.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that.

I opened the case with a long nose plier ... ;)
