Noise w/ Hydor L25 pump

Anyone have problems w/ noise on a Hydor L20 or L25 pump? I hooked up my first WC rig last night and can't seem to get anymore air out of the pump.

When I turn the pump on, about two-thirds of the time the pump is noisy. The other third it is relatively quiet with a slight clicking or "clacking" noise. Is this the pump or is there air still in it. I've shaken and re-oriented it several times with the pump running and with the pump off. I got a few small additional air bubbles out of it this morning after running it all night...but the problem still persists. I did everything with it except make a "shaken martinin" for 007 with it.

I remember reading something that the Hydor pumps are loud at first and need time to be broken in and become quiet. But does anyone know how long that takes?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

a clicking/clacking noise can't be good. i know a hissing/sizzling sound means you have air trapped in your system, but clicking/clacking just sounds wrong.

the swiftech mcp600 pump is known to quieten down within a few days, but i don't recall hearing about a run-in period for hydor/seltz pumps...

my advice would be to not shake it so much, and just leave it be - if after a week it's still noisy, return it.
