My CPS-750s aren't silent!

Post by toiletduckuk » Sat Dec 04, 2004 7:39 am

Am I doing something wrong? They're easily the noisiest part of my setup :( Without them plugged in, my PC is silent.. so it's a bit irritating to of replaced my Ehiem 1250 for them!

Do you guys undervolt yours or something? I'm confused :(

I had to undervolt mine. Info in the Results section of my gallery thread. Then read my next post as well! Both of the Mark I Dtek pumps failed in the last week, and I'd strongly advise you to go back to that Eheim. Or get a DDC.

Do you have the newer Mark II with the cooling slits cut into the side of the motor housing? That's leaking a ton of noise; CSP-750s aren't prone to failing from heat (failure of CSP-750s is due to issues with the bearing seal, not heat); you an safely muffle the slits without causing overheation. I used double-layer foam and rubber bands.
