self contained components?

Post by chrisb71 » Tue May 01, 2007 5:44 am

I'm building a new gaming computer and I'm thinking about picking up this:

MSI NX8800GTX OC Liquid
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814127282

Basically it's a video card with hoses to a radiator / fan combo.

Never having used watercooling (my htpc is the huge heatsink/slowed down quiet fans variety) I thought this might be a good hassle free alternative for only about $100 more than an aircooled card, than having a complete watercooled system for my whole computer.

Mainly I am not interested in maintenance beyond blowing air in to get rid of dust. I was thinking this small self-contained system might be fine, But am I fooling myself into thinking this will be maintenance free? Has anyone tried solutions like this and do you still have to do maintenance such as flushing etc.?

thanks
