from the eheim's website (http://www.eheim.com/universal.htm) , the eheim 1048 has G1/4" pressure side, and G3/8" intake side....
i'm confuzzled on the G3/8" part since all the fittings i see are for G1/4" to 1/2" ID or whatever...
So i get one G1/4" fitting
(like this one: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/ ... s_id=21945)
but then, what do i get for that G3/8" one? is there a G3/8" to 1/2" ID fitting? or am i just making stuff up?
basically i just am trying to do this:
eheim 1048 pump
1/2" ID clearflex tubing (5/8" OD)
...
and the rest of my loop uses 1/2" fittings
*oh and another side note...for you thermochill users! Will the PA120.1 be enough for just a CPU loop? (e6400 oc'd to 3.2 ghz) I already have a YL 120. And for the PA120.x series...it says it has 3/8" BSPT/NPT thread... is that the same thing as the eheim's G3/8" thread? what fittings did you guys use to get your thermochill converted to a 1/2" OD barb?

Shown here pushed onto the nose of a HPPS, but it will work with 1046 and 1048 as well.
You have to get rid of the 8mm compression fitting, but the body's threaded for BSPP 1/4, so that's easy.
Note that this is the only Innovatec push-on res model I recommend. The fancy looking ones (which are more $$ as well) will restrict flow. This one does not - and they've figured out water flow, so it does a really nice job of removing bubbles.
It comes in a couple of colors - the black one is made of softer, more resilient plastic, which is a feature if you're planning to drill the top to install a temp probe.

I'm not sure I understand your system of counting with fractions of the king's thumb (inches, that is). Anyhoo...

Since all the fittings on the waterblocks are 8/12 mm I intend to keep using that tubing. The Eheim website and you guys say that the eheim 1048 has G1/4" pressure side, and G3/8" intake side but when I measure the fittings I measure 1/2" at the inlet and 3/8" at the outlet.
Did I get an old version with bigger fittings or am I just a confused young lad?
