Using UV/Colored Fluid in Innovatek Stuff?

Post by toxicfrog » Fri Feb 13, 2009 7:39 pm

I'm leaping into WC. I've decided to go Innovatek everything; Eheim HPPS-Pump PLUS, G-Flow block, Radi dual, etc. There is noise from their camp about not using anything other than water and the compulsary additive due to warranty purpose, etc. I know using anything more will probably cost me a few degrees. But half the reason for WC is to have awesome green liquid pumping through the pipes and running down the reservoir. I intend on using their distilled water/additive mix, but also want to dump in some color additive. Can it really damage/taint the equipment (pump/block/radiator), or are they just trying to keep things simple, efficient and covering their bases? Any suggestions on the additive. Looking for some thick green, need not be UV reactive.
