I have my Nexus Breeze case and today received my email that remaining components of my system build are shipping (probably Monday).
One of those is the MSI K8N mobo - (see link below)

I just checked on it trying to see how many USB and firewire ports I would have at rear (since case only carries one of each at front).
Then I realised - there is a little fan cooling the Northbridge and I just KNOW that is going to interfere with my quiet desires.
Can anyone here recommend best practise to deal with this? Is passive an option? Do I have to simple replace fan? Make standoffs to use larger and undervolt it? I thought I had everything planned! There always seems to be something to catch you out.....
Oh yes, and I know how I will want to press on with this - so if anyone knows a UK supplier that can ship the requisite panflo or whatever to me fast that would also be helpful (I will check through the recommended suppliers - think there was a fan specialist there, but not sure if they shipped fast!)

Some things to think about when buying a NB47J..
1) Make sure your motherboard has mounting holes at the northbridge, as this is how the NB47J is mounted. I can't really tell from this picture, but it looks like it has mounting holes around the nortbridge.
2) Given the placement of the northbridge and the height of a NB47J, you need to make sure that your VGA Silencer won't interfere with the NB47J. My advice is to install your 9700 first and make measurements to see if a NB47J will fit.
If you need Panaflo's and you're in the EU, you should buy from Dorothy Bradbury. Cheap, fast, good reputation - just do a search here and you'll see. And she ships for free in the UK.

Many thanks to you both for the advice - I have found a UK etailer and ordered one of these heatsinks.
As ecto says, cannot see holes from spec. or pics - but that fan has to be retained somehow so I am hopefull all may be well. If not it is not a big cost, and maybe I can RMA anyway if ordering more from them.
I think I should be OK on the VGA silencer because I am applying an arctic rather than a passive solution (since it is a 9700 pro).

I am, however unsure of my needs for fans right now - I would love to be able to get some very low profile fans to replace a coupld of howlers in other machines, but doubt this is doable as the spec is very precise and proprietary (Packard Bell - therefore NEC - iDesign models). Should I need any with my Nexus Breeze case? I surely hope not! Although there is another thread worrying me with a tale of this case being noisy and with my mobo in it too!

problems
I just fitted the arctic cooler to my graphics card and made a trial run for measurements - there is no way the heatsink is going to fit underneath 
So what to do now? I guess I maybe have to just tolerate with the MSI fan? I hate the idea really - it is a 36 mm affair held in place by three small screws so I cannot imagine being easily able to change it.
Does anyone here have any ideas - or is this a simple case of having to live with it as a consequence of my mobo selection?

You can buy the Zalman NB cooler, and then just trim off whatever pins are in the way. You can glue it on if you don't have holes. (but you probably have holes)
A64 boards really don't need much NB cooling...much less than 32bit boards do. The fanned NB HS's are there as much for marketing as anything else. Look at the Asus A64 boards: some of them use little tiny heatsinks like back in the KT133 days.
