NooB asking a Mobo question

Post by oakdad » Fri Oct 29, 2004 6:05 am

Are there any Mobos out there that support both the AGP and the PCI-E set up? I have an existing AGP video card I would like to use with a new build but would like to upgrade to a PCI-E one when I have the money.

From all official accounts this isn't supposed to be possible. However at Computex this turned up.

About a year ago, VIA seemed to be contemplating the idea for their upcoming chipsets. However, now that PCI-E is here, that idea seems to have gone by the wayside. By guess is that VIA decided that it would be too difficult or expensive to implement well.
