Is it still advisable to stay away from the prescott?

I ask this question because some time has passed since it came into the market. Have there been any revisions that help to reduce the heat concern?

No.

I'd definitely go with Northwood over Prescott at this time.

I'd definetely go with the Athlon 64 over a Northwood.


And I'd DEFINETELY go with the Pentium-M over any of these chips. One can only hope, I suppose...oh well. C'est la vie.
