I have a Intel P4 Rocklake D865Perl motherboard with a prescott 2.8 This computer is a HTPC which has a 1 gig kingston ram, ati 9600xt, hauppauge pvr 150 and a wireless card. I would like to find a cpu that would be the cheapest and coolest running cpu. What do you guys recommend?
Thanks

What socket is that motherboard?
If it's a 478 I would think a Northwood core P4 would be your best bet, if you could find one. Does a Celeron have enough power for what you want the HTPC to do?

yes its a 478 socket, I don't think I need that much power, I haven't seen it go over 50% cpu usage.
