Thermalright XP-90 on Athlon64 3000+ 939?

Post by ozoneraider » Sun May 15, 2005 8:21 am

Thermalright's site says the XP-90 is compatable with:
AMD: Athlon64 FX 3200+ (socket 939/940) /Athlon64 3200+ (socket 754) and above

Why wouldn't the xp-90 work with an Athlon64 3000+ (939)? Has anybody done this?

AMD's web site doesn't mention Thermalright heatsinks at all.

This is my first post to this board... it is a wealth of information!

Welcome to SPCR!

Of course it will work - heatsinks fit to motherboards, not chips. Plenty of people have done it, too... my guess is that they don't think the 3000+ is hot enough to warrant it ;)
