I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum and if a lot of what I'm going to ask has been covered before.

I'm looking to spend about £100-£150 on a new flatscreen monitor. I have no idea what to look for, but my reason for upgrading is the fact I get considerable eye strain from my 8 year old 15" IBM flatscreen.

Now, I'm assuming the technology has moved on considerably since then, but my main worry is how to minimize eye strain in the long term, as I like to read a lot of e-books etc.

One thing the monitor definitely needs is a DVI input and a fast response time for gaming.

If someone could point towards what I should be looking at to determine the best monitor for me, I'd be grateful.

If I've got the currency conversion right, you should be able to get an LG "Flatron" for about that price. I just got one a few weeks ago as a 22" wide screen and I think it's phenomenal. Very bright and sharp, yet very deep blacks. Response time is spec'd at 2 or 3ms and it has the DVI input. But at least in the US, we don't get a DVI cable in the box so you may need to get one.

Gangrel, Have a look on www.ebuyer.co.uk, they have a huge selection of monitors.
I would say for the money you have to spend a good 19" widescreen is well within budget.

Here are some that might tickle your fancy:

For AU$400 (about 150 pounds) I just bought myself a brand new Samsung 226BW (one of the more expensive 22 inch widescreen monitors). I'm happy so far.
