building a silent pc for mainstream things

Post by JoergJaeger » Sat May 08, 2010 8:31 am

Hi,

i like to build a system that is quiet and also small.
Now i looked these parts and was thinking to use my current cpu etc..

IN WIN BM639.AD160TBL Black Steel Mini-ITX Tower Computer Case 160W Power Supply

ZOTAC GF9300-G-E LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 9300 HDMI Mini ITX Intel Motherboard

My current parts are like this
intel E8500 at 3.16ghz & 4GB of ram (DDR2 800), evga 8800gt (not needed anymore, no gaming)

I will also replace my harddrive. Currently i have 3 harddrives but like to install just one with 2TB.

I got told that MiniATX is better then ITX. Is this true and if what case etc.. should i choose?

Thank you for your input

Building microATX can be less expensive than Mini-ITX. You also get a bit more capacity for expansion. That said, if space is of the essence, by all means, go with Mini-ITX.
