Deactivating fan detection on a 07e8h mobo (Compaq Evo D510 agency series pd1058p)
after rewiring the case fan and cpu fan to a fan controller, my compaq 07e8h ( intel i845g chipset ) bios now gives two warnings upon startup:
511-cpu fan not detected 512-case fan not detected
this is quite annoying since now the f1 key has to be pressed as part of booting up. unfortunately, i'm not seeing any options to deactivate this in the f10 settings. is there any way to turn off fan detection on this mobo?
i'd really like to either disable fan detection or else adjust the default speeds to run a little quieter.
RELATED: Is there a program that can display cpu temps for an 07e8h mobo (Compaq Evo D510 agency series pd1058p)?
i've tried cpuid, speedfan, coretemp, occt, pcwizard, speccy and realtemp, all of which unfortunately display cputemp as either 0 degrees celcius or not at all, except for realtemp which apparently doesn't support this processor (2.53 p4 northwood).
speedfan gives us this clue: apparently the "intel ichx slave" is 'not used.' unfortunately, google isn't providing many more leads from there.
help?
