PSU & CPU cooler for Fractal Node 304

Post by Mariano » Fri Oct 26, 2012 9:53 am

Hello,
This is my 1st post in this forum, I hope to find the best solutions for my problems.

I would like to build a Mini-ITX pc with the following components:

Case: Fractal Design Node 304
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-I DELUXE LGA1155 Z77 MITX
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 Low Profile
SSD Hard Drive: Intel 330 Series 120GB
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 670 2GB DirectCU II

I’m having difficulty selecting a PSU compatible with this case, because in the manufacturer's webpage is specified that "To fit in combination with a long graphics card, PSUs with modular connectors on the back typically need to be shorter than 160 mm".

My first choice was Seasonic X-560/X-660: it's modular and super-silent, but I think it's not good. :(

I'm having the same difficulties with CPU cooler: I like the Noctua coolers.

In my country (Italy) the Node 304 is not yet available, but in this forum I read that someone has it.
Can you help me? This is my 1st PC build.
Thanks a lot

p.s. sorry, I speak a little English

I asked a Fractal. The response is the following:

"The Integra is the only one of our power supplies that will fit with a long graphics card installed. If you are to use a modular power supply with a graphics card installed the modular power supply shouldn't exceed a length of 140mm. But there are variations of power supply cables, so it’s really hard to tell without testing."

I found an another forum to discuss this issue.
Thanks anyway
