Macho Rev A install on an 1155 MB

Post by bburk » Tue Nov 06, 2012 10:32 pm

The directions are not clear on whether or not to use the "755 backplate cap"? Is it only used in 755 mb installs, or all? The only post I have found on the subject give conflicting answers... thanks

It should only be needed for LGA775, since the later Intel sockets already have an integrated metal plate (not a backplate though) behind the CPU socket to fill that gap. :)

I jist installed macho A yesterday in my rig with gigabyte mobo, s1155.
No need to use this little plate. It is only for older 755.
