Tower Case Roller / Stand

Post by jmacias » Thu Jun 20, 2013 11:19 am

Hi all,

I am looking into getting a tower case roller like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811995078

I have wood floors and a metal frame case. Does anyone have any experience with these stands and whether they help / hurt with cooling and noise? I imagine they could create some rattling, but would like to hear from any of you that have experience with this.

I see that one comes with some sort of rubberised strips that can be quite useful, otherwise one could simply put on something else soft for the case to rest on. As long as the case doesn't have an important intake in the middle where the case rests, cooling would only be helped. On a shorter case a bottom PSU intake might be at risk. It would be easy to build a skateboard-design yourself if you can find a piece of wood big enough to support the cases standard feet. I'm doing one myself with some simple wheels off a hardware store, just got to get to screwing them in some day. Mind any height clearances as well of course, if the case is supposed to roll in under a desk or so. Getting a case a bit off the ground can help some against dust collection as well, at least a little bit.

Makes sense. Thank you.

I get a lot of lint and dust due to the hardwood floors and I think this should help with that. I'll report back if there are any problems with noise.
