Replacing SFF case fan?

Post by Altair » Thu Jul 04, 2013 1:00 am

Dear All,

I have got a HP Compaq DC7800P Small Form Factor and recently bought a RADEON HD6450 1GB DDR3 PCI-E VGA/DVI/HDMI graphic card and turned it to a great HTPC.

However I also bought an ARCTIC COOLING F9 PWM 92MM fan to replace the fan closest to the front. However the old fan didn't have the same connector as the ARCTIC fan and the reason is that the ARTIC fan uses a typical CPU FAN connector (I could of course steal the original CPU fan connector and use it for the ARCTIC fan). My question is if someone has done this modification and has some smart idea to get this PC more silent?

I'm very happy with the HTPC and together with a LOGITECH WIRELESS DESKTOP MK260 USB it is a ultra-budget HTPC that suites most needs.

Best regards
