might be a stupid question, but I'm not sure.
fan1: M12-1, 8dBA, 58cfm3
fan2: M12-2, 16dBA, 87cfm3
can I argue 2x fan1 is same noise as 1x fan2, 2x fan1 is always better compared to 1x fan2 because it delivers (2x58-87) = 29cfm3 more airflow?

What is a decibel? Zero decibels (0 dB) is the quietest sound audible to a healthy human ear. From there, every increase of 3 dB represents a doubling of sound intensity, or acoustic power.

Short answer: 2 fans means you would get more cfm with less noise than the one louder fan. You might find
this handy.

The best method is to reduce air restrictions by cutting out stamped grills, etc. Then a slower fan has better airflow, and is much quieter.
