I hate to state the obvious about thermaltake case fans, but I am still quite peeved by this, and this is a good place to post this kinda thing 8]

I got 2 Thermaltake Thunderblade 1926A fans a week ago after seeing their decently rated cfm/dbA rating. The company rates them at 21 dbA and 78 CFM. They are easily double that at 12V. Even at 7V they are horrendously loud.

Oh well. There goes some of my meager Americorps stipend for the month.

Sue/threaten to sue them for false advertising?

Maybe at least write them an email to let them know you don't appreciate being treated like that.

I just tried to submit a complaint to them via their website, but the "submit" button doesn't seem to be sending the message. Great. This is the only contact method listed on the site. And I, unfortunately, threw out the packaging which probably had the address of the company on it.

the only Thermaltake fans that can hope to live up to the cfm/dB ratings on the website are the Hong Sheng 80/92/120mm A9225L12S, A8025AL12S and F129025SH (92mm Everflow) fans

You would be hard pushed to find them in any retail outlets cos all of the above fans are oem only and ship with Tt cases.

The thunderblade fans seem like a waste of money imho. just cos they are normal led fans.

At least now you know why Thermaltake have such a bad rep on this site. You're not the first to fall for their marketing spiel and you won't be the last.

BTW, how do they come up with the names for their products? "Thermaltake Thunderblade"! Sounds more like a motorbike than a PC fan.

What do you expect from a 2000 rpm fan? You should at least try it at 5v.

While he's at it, he could sue the whole industry. They all lie...
But he would lose. I bet the specs didn't say 21db from 1 meter, so they weren't actually lying.
