The short form:

Prolimatech stands behind their product with excerllent customer service in spite of having no local presence in my country.

The details:

I'm building a system for my brother-in-law, based on a I7 860 on a socket 1156 P55 mobo.

I'm more than happy with the Thermalright HR-01+ CPU heatsink that I've used before, but every seller was out of stock, so I went with the Prolimatech Megahalems Rev B, which fits 1156 and, thanks to a new socket position on the P55 boards, appears to fit in an Antec Solo.

The Megahalems arrived in perfect condition, with all components nicely packaged into separate bags - very well thought out, and a pleasure to work with.

But, one of the bolts would not accept the nut all the way. An inspection under a 7x loupe showed a minor impact ding on the bolt - just enough to mess things up.

I emailed Prolimatech and received an almost immediate (less than an hour) response that the bolt was on the way, delivery to be in about a week. Not too bad on delivery - they are in Taiwan, I'm in California.

In rereading the response, I noticed that I had mistyped my own address, putting a "6" where a "5" should be in the address. I contacted Prolimatech by email again, and once again, no problem - the bolt had been shipped already (this was just 40 minutes after the first email!), and they would ship another the next day to the correct address.

Today, 9 days later, thanks to an alert mail carrier, I received the first mailing, the one that went to the mistyped address. That's 7 business days, plus a weekend, and customs clearance to boot.

To cap off the whole story, they didn't send just one bolt, they sent all four! In bubble wrap.

Thanks, Prolimatech, with particular thanks to Minna Yu, who is a great advertisement for her company.

Now to attach that heatsink...

I completely agree. I had a megahalems on a core 2 quad processor, and a couple months ago I upgraded to an i7 960. But I couldn't find the 1366 socket mounting plate that came with it. I sent them an email to see if I could get a replacement, and they sent me an email with details on how they could ship me one, and a link to the part from a web retailer that could ship it to me faster. I wasn't even really expecting a response, and was amazed at how quickly it came and with the options they gave me. I ordered one from the web retailer, and almost immediately found the part in one of my motherboard boxes. So it all turned out to be unnecessary, but the support was great. Probably contributed to me getting that nickel-plated megahalems for another system. Great company.
