List of fanless laptops

More popular than ever, but some are still very noisy.

Finally an interesting candidate that may buck the trend of planned obsolescence:
Lenovo X1 tablet is an interestingly fresh modular design with the latest generation of Intel Core M processors. Haven't got a chance to peek at its internals, but at the very least it's fanless, and spec'ed up to 16GB RAM, and can be used with a pen.

The harddisk is noisy. The laptop itself has a cheap look.

The processor is good for a sound player, and much more: no lags in windows seven and everything is fast enough.

All in all, I'm very happy with it !
You could always swap out the HDD with an SSD.
I got this laptop from the UK (not available in Sweden) recently, bought a outlet-converter. Downside is keyboard layout is not native.

Anyway, Windows 8.1 was pre-installed and slow out of the box; browsing, generally navigating around. Even after uninstalling bloat and mcaffee.

Switched to an SSD (which is a but cumersome with this model, but not THAT hard, see instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NEIiY-p7Z4) and clean install of win 8.1 just now. With launchy, evernote, dropbox, everything, keepass, wunderlist, eset nod32, viber and palemoon with 10 tabs open everything flows smoothly.

edit october 2015: I've experienced slow loading of webpages for more than a year, tried all sorts of things to fix it. I can at this point not recommend this laptop. More info of my problem here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-H ... -p/5055350
On this video, there's a fan visible...

That's perfectly normal, the 250 G2/G3 lineups sport different processors: the only fanless ones are those with the Celeron/Pentium N CPUs.

The video has been linked just to teach how to swap the noisy HDD with an SSD, because the disk placement is the same across the whole lineups.

Your answer seems to say that all HP 250 G2s and G3s with Pentium N and Celeron N are fanless.

I found a really nice laptop, it's the HP 250 (I think it's the G3 version, you can see how the laptop looks exactly here http://allegro.pl/laptop-hp-250-windows ... 72407.html ) with Pentium N3540, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD. Can I be sure it's fanless? The seller is being weird about me saying I'll return it if it's not and the laptop is perfect except that.

Yes, I meant so.

No, you can't. I mean, I'm pretty sure it's fanless, so I would buy: said that, as shit happens, if you wanna be safe just order from Amazon DE (I guess they ship to PL: something like this https://www.amazon.de/dp/B01C4907SY ).

HDD and RAM swap on HP 250 G3 is as hard as possible according to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cpEmEO5Ijs . Not too encouraging.

The other laptop which is mentioned in this thread and available to buy is Lenovo G50-30 (I don't think I've seen Lenovo 100 mentioned here), but everytime I asked sellers about these Lenovos that had Pentium Ns if they have fans, they confirmed, are they uneducated or what? Can someone explain to me which G50-30s and which G40-30s are fanless and how exactly to identify them? Currently I'm pretty sure at least some of them with Pentiums have fans (people saying things like they feel warm air around the vent) and perhaps all of the Celeron ones are fanless.

I don't recall whether this list has been posted, but in case: http://www.ultrabookreview.com/6520-fanless-ultrabooks/

I add to the list the Lenovo Ideapad 100 15: even this one, I don't recall if that was posted before, however, it's fanless and sports a Bay Trail 3540, 8GB, 1TB disk, FreeDOS, usually for about 300 euros in EU (+/- 10%).
