Dell Vostro V130

More popular than ever, but some are still very noisy.

Dell Vostro V130

Dell Vostro V130 (searched but didn't find any posts on this)
This is last year's model, using the old 1st gen Intel Core i3. But it's still on sale at Dell.com
Looks like it would be a very quiet system if SSD is installed.

I have the old version Vostro V13 with SU7300. The laptop is silent after you install a SSD - the fan spins only when you are doing something really intensive. While doing office, web, programming the fan doesn't even spin.

Two concerns though:
- Sometimes you can hear some whine from inside, which is fairly annoying, but it is so quiet that you will only hear it in the night when there are NO other sounds around. In the office, library you will never hear it.
- And the screen is crap. It is matte, but still reflects a lot of light. Perfectly usable and fine, but far from the best.

But I don't know how the new model does in terms of cooling and silence, since they have a new cooling system.
