HI!

Well a while ago, I purchased the Corsair H50, I will not make an extended review, because most of you already know how it is.

As we all know its a very simple watercooling solution, the thing i liked is the simplicity of the use and installation! And also.. the H50 is pretty much noiseless, I recorded a video to prove that it is very silent:

The whole unit is small and cute:

It comes with a PWM fan and a 120mm thin radiator, I read that its made of aluminium, but im not sure...

I was afraid of using the original fan, so I used a Scythe Kama PWM...

The end result is amazing, it works pretty well for a non-overclocked undervolted CPU like mine..

Image

The problem... Is the fan " sucking " air IN... meaning the hot air remains inside the case...

I did a couple of testing with Real Temp 3.00 to test the fans blowing the hot air IN and OUT...

I used the push pull solution using a Scythe Kama PWM and a Noctua Fan...

The results I got:

Fans Blowing hot air IN:

Fans Blowing hot air OUT:

I will make some more testing and Ill post it here...

I used the sensor test because it was easier to just capture the screen shots and post it here, if there is a better way to test please let me know.

The system used is:

- Evga 790i Ultra SLI;
- Intel QuadCore Q9550 C1;
- 8 GB of Ram (Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz);
- ONE Evga GTS 250 1 Gb;
- Antec P182;

Thank you!

hi there...

If there's anything resourceful and plenty to be found of in the market, it has to be the sheer number of CPU coolers. Over the years CPU coolers have evolved in many ways and series. One of the more popular product developments that set a new trend were of course heatpipe based coolers. The market is completely saturated with the most exquisite models. Heatpipe coolers are good and silent, as such these are two of the most important features a cooler should have... good performance versus silence. The third factor is the same as always, pricing needs to be acceptable.

I know this thread is a bit old, but precisely because of this, I would like to ask Kate how's been the experience with the H50 so far. I'm considering using it for my workstations.

I would also love a professional review by SPCR!

I still use it, but in another computer, I like it since its quiet, and much much better than most air coolers.

The only problem I see is the configuration which forces the hot air IN...

For my main desktop, I currently use a DD waterblock it is better than the H50 but it is a lot more expensive if you consider the cost of pump and all the stuff needed for a WC system.

THank you!

I also have strong interest in this cooler, since it has the potential to implement single-fan system (also act as the system fan to drain hot air out) in a HTPC.

BUT, you mentioned the fan can only suck air into the case. Is this true? Can't we swap the fan to different side and make it drain air out of case?

BTW, how about the pump noise? Is it controllable?

Hello Netmask254,

The H50 is very silent, at least for me, I did not hear any noise from it..

Originally the H50 is designed to push air IN, so hot air remain inside the case... I tried swaping the temperature difference was not that big, but if i remember it right i was around 5 to 7 more...

The pump can be adjusted, but I wouldnt... for me it is silence enough, and since it is an htpc it will probably be inside a cabinet and probably 2 to 3 meters away, not to mention the sound generated my all the explosions and voices should pretty much "hide" all the computer noise.

BTW, I have never tested the original Corsair PWM fan, I always used a Scythe PWM fan!

Thank you!

Hi, Kate:

Thank you so much for the experience! It's a very interesting product for HTPC.
