A7N8X-E Deluxe & AMD XP-M 3000+ Compatible?

I have an A7N8X-E Deluxe running a AMD 2100+. I am in the process of upgrading this computer to an HTPC, I am wondering if a XP Moble 3000+ will work with my motherboard.

This link does not list the processor as compatible, but I question the accuracy.

http://www.asus.com.tw/support/cpusuppo ... pport.aspx

Thanks,

I don't have the link, but AMD's web site has a list of compatible mbs for the individual processor. Finding the compatibility guide is a bit of a chore, otherwise I'd have it for you now. :(

Only thing I can find on the AMD page is the recomended motherboards, I can't seem to dig up the compatible page? According to AMD Asus does not make any boards that support the XP M, which I find hard to believe.

oops - you're right, it was "recommended" boards. maybes corporations aren't going to reccomend mobile processors in a desktop board for fear of inevitable laswsuits? and profits, natch.
