Asus A8V deluxe generates Fan error message

Post by jerryk » Thu Mar 24, 2005 5:56 am

Hi,

I just put together a Asus A8V deluxe. It works fine, but I get a CPU Fan error everytime I boot. The fan is turning. The CPU fan is a 120 mm attached to a FanMate2. Do I need to remove the fanmate?

I don't know about this specific Asus board, but on several Asus boards it is reported that anything below 1000RPM or 1500RPM gives that error. Asus engineers apparently have never heard of silent PC's.

Look in the BIOS to disable the fan speed check or to change whether it halts on that type of error.

My A8V with an XP-120 and orange Nexus always gave that error with the fan running around 1050 rpm acording to the BIOS. I got tired of hitting F1 everytime and just disabled the monitoring in the BIOS.

I am getting the same error message. I can see in the BIOS hardware monitor that the fan is running at 1048 rpm and the CPU is at 38C.
