just (nerve wrackingly) managed to do this on my Sempron socket A chip
Pics here. Tried to post pics but I couldn't figure out why they didn't appear in the preview
Multiplier unlocking was done by scraping the edges of the pit breaking bridge L5 [2], half filling it with modelling putty (I know I know) and then painting over the top with conductive silver paint.
multiplier changes are now available in CrystalCPUID, which seem to be real by CPU-Z, but sadly my MB doesn't allow undervolting, so it was a rather futile exercise Still, worth finding out if it was possible though
Sempron 2400 + conductive silver = Athlon XPM :)

I'm glad that it is working ok.
Why didn't you use pencil method, that I showed you in your previous post?

It didn't worked?
___
If you want to undervolt you have to pin mod your processor:
according to ocinside amd pinmod interactive guide:
http://www.ocinside.de/go_e.html?/html/ ... inmod.html
you have to connect 2 pins (a view from the pin side of the cpu) and cut some bridges (info @ coinside.de):
It is not a big deal since you voided your warranty already
