I figured there aren't nearly enough many threads about Venice cores in this forum..
Athlon 64 3000+ EOL'ed, New 3200+ and 3500+ E4 Stepping @ AnandTech
It seems that there's now 3 Venice variants on the market:
E3 aka. BP
E6 aka. BW
E4 aka. CG
I wonder how the E4 core will perform in terms of heat production and OC'ability..

There's something not quite right about these 'E4's and I don't trust Anandtech's article fully - technically, the only E4 processors were processors like San Diego etc with 1MB cache, or dual-core processors. E4 is also a stepping back on E6 - so are AMD simply trying to sell what would have been defective cores?? There's nothing I can find 'new' about them at all. Also, it doesn't make me feel comfortable with them using CG in the naming - surely that's confusing people with the 130nm cores - or is that another trick AMD is hoping people will fall for (so they can get trid of some old stock).

This has been discussed before, but there seem to be three steppings of Venice 3500+ AMD64 CPU:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi ... t=Property
BPBOX The one with 190 feedbacks is, I assume, the E3. That's what I have.
CGBOX Then there's the $202 E4 (I *think*) with no feedback yet.
BWBOX Finally, there's a $225 with only a few responses. E6..?
AMD, a little freaking clarity please!
