Any experience with EPoX EP-8NPA SLI Socket 754?

Greetings,

Does anybody have any experience with the EPoX EP-8NPA SLI Socket 754 motherboard?

I'm going to replace the NB HSF with a Zalman, and I'm planning on using two ATi Radeon X550 PCIe video cards not in SLI mode, but just for two separate LCD monitors.

The motherboard has some glowing reviews at NewEgg. I'm just hoping that transplanting this into a system that had an Asus K8V Deluxe won't require an lot of Windows finagling... The Matrox Parhelia video card did a strange thing: it burned a small portion of the circuit board near the rear top edge! It literally smoked and burned and bubbled -- and stopped working, and broke the AGP slot on the motherboard... :?

So, I need to use this EPoX SLI to get two DVI outputs -- this combo is about $80 less than a single AGP video card with two DVI and a decent AGP mobo.

What do you think?

Bump. Anyone have any experience with this board?

Of course the NB fan would have to go---but would a big passive northbridge heatsink (e.g. Zalman NB47J) fit with a Scythe Ninja? Looks kinda doubtful.

Matt
