Making the K8NXP silent!!!!!!

hi all,

I'm new here and i have been looking around for ways to make my motherboard silent.

It is a socket 939 mb (gigabyte k8nxp-sli) which is fairly old now but I am new to the "silent pc" scene and would like to get my current rig quiet. i have narrowed down the noisiest fan at the moment to one that i am not certain how to proceed to silent.

This is the fan on the motherboard (not the dual power system as i took this additional board out) which i believe is the "northbridge" type fan. I am wondering if I can utilise one of the zalmann northbridge type heatsinks to turn this into a silent cooler.

My pc isn't o'clocked and i'm not too worried about cooling with my case so i'm just looking to quiet this fan down as it currently is the noisiest thing in there!!!

I did do a search on this mb but nothing i found came up on how to silence this beast....

thanks in advance :D
