Thanks for the photos. I've been sticking to Intel's chipsets, but I used nVidia's on AMD platforms.
That ring of heatsinks is just awful. I'd bet it interferes with large CPU coolers, and GPU coolers that wrap around the back of the videocard. We need a standard for placement of the motherboard heatsinks, or at least a height maximum.

It seems that it doesn't interfere with larger sized heatsinks...at least not the Ninja...according to The Techreport
And BTW this will most likely be my next upgrade, together with another 8800GT...We were even able to squeeze a massive Ninja CPU heatsink onto the socket without interfering with the chipset cooler.
