Gigabyte EP35 series (Rev 2.1) cpu fan control issues

I just made a minor switch from the P35-DS3R rev 1.0 to rev 2.1 and it looks like gigabyte made one important change to the cpu fan controls. Now there's no option to select between pwm and voltage for the smartfan. Has anyone else seen this issue and/or found any solutions? I used to have my cpu fan running at a nice quiet 800rpm and now it's spinning at the full 1350rpm. I'd prefer not to have to fanmate another fan, as I'm already doing that to my other 3.

Yes, I'm having the same problem with my GA-P35-DS3 (rev 2.1).
