mATX MB suggestion needed for undervolting

Post by graysky » Mon Dec 14, 2009 8:20 am

I need an mATX form factor MB that'll take an Intel 775 CPU (I have a spare e5200) that has the following key features:

1) Ability to set the CPU vcore, not just add to the stock VID (I want to under volt). My E5200 has a VID of 1.2875 V but runs perfectly stable @ 0.9750 V.

2) Southbridge that isn't an ICH7 (ICH9 or ICH10).

The only board I found that meets #1 but not #2 is the Gigabyte G41M-ES2L but it has the slow ICH7.

The Asus P5N7A-VM (G9300 chipset) and the Asus P5Q-EM G45 (with ICH10R) would seem to fit the bill.

Based on the SPCR reviews with an E7200, sub 1.0V for your CPU should be achievable.
