I'd like to build a...
- really quiet PC (totally fanless, or single, slowed-down 120mm fan) which
- has a PCI slot, and
- doesn't require much horsepower, and
- has en embedded x86 CPU so that I can use a regular Linux distro, but
- the whole thing (mobo + RAM + CF/DD + DIY acrylic case
) shouldn't cost more than about $100-130.
At this point, it looks like the only motherboards with an embedded x86 CPU are Atom-based such as the Asus AT5NM10-I
, but they're a bit too pricey for this project.
Do you know of other motherboards, even with older CPU? Size isn't an issue, so even ATX mobos are OK.
