ASUS NCT-D motherboard Memory upgrade

Hi, I've got a NCT-D motherboard based PC with 4GB ECC registered Kingston DDR2 RAM.

I would like to upgrade to 8GB memory and WIN XP 64bit to be able to use it :)

Now I think I don't actually need ECC memory, but I'm having hard time finding what memory would work best.
I think Kingston HyperX KHX8500D2K2/4G would be fine?

Also I see that memory I would need for my PC KVR400D2S4R3/2G is CL3 and the HyperX is CL5, almost two times slower, wouldn't this be a concern? I understand if you would actually use the faster RAM at it's intended BUS speed you would not notice it but I will down clock it to 400Mhz.

Thanks.

alot of boards nowdays have the option of running ecc ram but I don't feel it is necessary unless you are running the thing as some type of server etc. For the general enthusiast or computer user it just isn't that critical to be worth the extra money.
With that being said, if your current ram is ecc already, you are probably pigeon holed into using ecc if you keep what you have and add to it...
As for the timing issue, alot say that nowdays latency is unimportant but I disagree. In my latest system I used super talent elpidia hyper ram, I ran it awhile at whatever the board picked which was like 9-9-9-24 timings and later I manually switched it to 6-6-6-18 and I could tell the system felt alot snappier. I say look for ram that is at LEAST cas level 3
