I've been searching for days now and after reading a few threads here it looks like posting here is my best bet. Basically, I'm searching for a Mini-ITX motherboard that will accept a Intel Core 2 Duo T5850. It would also need to use 200-Pin DDR2 rather than desktop memory. Site is in german, but I think they have one of the most complete lists of mini-itx motherboards for mobile CPU's.

They are usually quite expensive, and you will not necessarily get a lower idle power consumption than a modern Clarkdale or Sandy Bridge build.

If you are serious about getting a motherbord for the mobile CPU, then your best bet is most likely Jetway, MSI or AOpen. If you can get a hold on any of them (I don't think many of these boards are still in production).

Thank you for those links, although I'm still having the same problem. I looked through all of the ones listed, and they each have one of two main flaws:
-They use 240-pin desktop RAM rather than 200-pin laptop RAM
-They don't show as supporting the 667MHz FSB that the T5850 uses

The only one I've found that seems to support everything I need is this:

Well, I can agree that the Jetway J9F2-EXTREMER3-LF seems to be using 240pin memory (that is not normal for motherboards that use mobile processor, so I didn't catch that). But the others should be just fine.

You really need to check the manual for each motherboard to rule them out. I just checked the MSI board that I linked to earlier (IM-GM45-D). According to the manual it supports socket P processors running in either 667, 800 or 1066 FSB. And it supports DDR2 SO-DIMM (200pin) running in 667 or 800 MHz. So I'm not sure where you are looking?

Those are listed as supporting the 45nm Penryn CPU lineup. I was under the impression that meant that my 65nm Merom would not work. I hope I'm wrong.

I think your cpu would be supported, but I can't be sure (I'm not really an expert on this. I have just spent some time a few months back, looking at arrandale i5 mobile motherboards, so know a little about the sockets++ and sites that sell them).

I'm still wondering how come you would go with this kind of setup? Do you have the cpu/memory leftover from a dead laptop?

You could go for a cheap i3 cpu/motherboard combo. You can most likely get cpu/motherboard/memory for the same money you pay for just a motherboard for mobile cpu.

OP, where did your T5850 come from?
It's not listed on Intel's Ark site, so it's hard to find good compatiblity information.
If it came from a broken laptop, look up the model of the laptop on G00gle and find the chipset used on the motherboard. Then you'll know which mITX motherboard you need.
I'm guessing that either a 965GME chipset based or a GM45 chipset based motherboard will be compatible (both accept socket P chips).
The 945GME chipset based motherboard is not compatible because it is for socket M chips.

Sometimes you can find a cheap 965GME board on ebay, but I have yet to see a cheap GM45 board there.

It might be better to just sell the T5850 and the sodimm memory that you have and put that towards a newer CPU, motherboard, and memory.
Currently, DDR3 memory is cheaper than DDR2.
