Low Power Xeon Mainboard

Post by Rand__ » Mon Oct 14, 2013 4:46 am

Hey guys,

i am looking to build a low power 24/7 home server and am currently considering an E3 (v3) processor.
I've seen the recommendation of Intel boards for the socket 1155 cpus; but unfortunately there are no server grade (ECC!) intel mobos for socket 1150 available (yet?).
So i was wondering whether anyone had recommendations from other vendors (Supermicro seems to be popular from a technical point of view) for a low power board...
Alternatively - are there general rules like
- less features - less power usage?
Or maybe "All ASUS boards use more power than Gigabyte's)?

Thanks,
Thomas

Edit: Ok, i've found them - the Intel 1150 Server boards are at http://ark.intel.com/products/series/77870.
So now i need someone to test the power usage;) Or do it myself:p
