Read that earlier today....the reviewer failed to look at the most important aspect of this thing: How well does it perform as a low cost 1080p gaming platform (CPU + discrete GPU...like the 650 Ti)? I mean, why else would you buy an overclockable Pentium?

I guess we'll have to wait and see. Scott Wasson has one at the Tech Report.

More or less like a Core i7 4770K, I guess (as any Pentium). It would be a great combo for a mITX stylish cube.

A more gaming oriented review (translated), even if not a budget setup (GTX-780).

I've been googling Intel Devil's Canyon all week and I think this is the first review on the G3258:
http://www.digitalstormonline.com/unloc ... -idnum298/
http://www.digitalstormonline.com/unloc ... -idnum299/

I find it amusing how excited the commentators are to see the Ghz it can reach, but when comparing the benchmarks it's energy inefficient compared to the i3-4330. The G3258 loses to the i3 in all but one benchmark (and by a mere 0.7 points at that). It ties the i3 in some games, while losing in others. And that's when it's overclocked to 4.6Ghz, which also results in higher temperatures. The only area where it really excels is cost. Of course, this is only one sample, so it could be a bad one for all we know.

No discrete card in the Hexus review. So, no real gaming info there. The pclab review is interesting..just for comparing against AMD. Hopefully, they'll be some more thorough stuff from other sites - like, what's the OC w/o overvolting?

If I'm not wrong, Steve, they used a Gigabyte GTX 750Ti (look at the very bottom of that page).

D'oh!

Talk about burying the lead in an article. I was so miffed that they did all those gaming charts with iGP, I didn't even notice the one paragraph and a table at the bottom of the page. Looks good, for those three games. The funny bit being the OC adds little to fps...for those three games. We can go into cpu vs gpu-limited discussion now ;)

I really want to see WOW and LOL benched with this new Anniversary Pentium, i bet you can build a very cheap build with a very good results on both games adding a GTX750Ti or AMD equivalent, probably sub $500 build that can wreck those games.

yep. WoW is fairly linear with dual core clock speed and at 1080p Ultra, I only see ~40% GPU usage with the GTX 760.
