Intel I7 7700 (NON K) right temperature

Post by Bokka » Fri Mar 10, 2017 7:28 am

Hello everyone!

I finally assembled the new PC with the following configuration:

CPU: Intel I7 7700 (NON K)
Msi H270 Gaming M3
16 Gb RAM (8x8) DDR4 CL14
CPU Cooler: Arctic Freezer 33
Power Supply: Corsair RM650X
Video Card: MSI Rx 480 8Gb X Gaming
Case: Fractal Design R5 Black Window

Now, my question is: CPU temperature in the BIOS is about 40°, more specifically ranges between 38° and 41°, while the motherboard is about 25°. The processor is NOT overclocked.
In all cases the various fans (I left everything at default), do not start, because it set to start at a certain temperature by the producer.

CPU temperatures are fine? My old I5 seems to me that it was about 10 degrees in less than average ....

Thanks so much!

In my experience an i7 run 10c hotter on load than an i5, so it's normal what you are seeing, this is one of the reasons most here recommend i5 over i7 if you were not to use the hyperthredi g.

Now on BIOS the CPU doesn't down lock that's another reason youight be seeing 40c on idle, let windows downclock the CPU you will see 30s maybe 20s (depending on your airflow).
